Member exchange

The exchange of expertise (knowledge) and experience (practice) – in a dialogue between the member companies and the ZIV team – forms the basis for the success of our lobby work.

The formats facilitating an exchange between members are primarily intended for general communication and networking. All member companies are expressly invited to participate!

The annual conference stipulated in the articles of association is one of the most important dates in the association’s event calendar. It takes place at least once a year, alternating between our members’ locations and Berlin.
The General Assembly forms the core of the annual meeting. It is the highest body of the association and makes key decisions, provided these are not made by other bodies of the association, including setting the budget, electing the Executive Board and amending the articles of association or adjusting the membership fees.

The town hall format allows the ZIV to provide members with regular, up-to-date overviews of the association’s work and allow participants to exchange with one another.
It is the central information and dialogue format for all interested employees from the member companies – whether they work in development, production, product management, sales or communication. Be sure to spread the word!

The forums serve the general exchange of information between member companies on the economic situation. Similar to the ZIV Annual Conference, they are stipulated in the ZIV articles of association and consistently comply with antitrust regulations.

The focus is on three different product groups:

  • Bicycles
  • Components and accessories
  • Retail and workshops (new in 2024)

The forums are usually held during a ZIV town hall during which the association team first shares general information on technical, political and economic developments in Germany and the EU.

The executive meet-ups are exclusively for C-level representatives of ZIV member companies.
The meetings take place in loose succession and according to the situation upon personal invitation, also at short notice if required.
The format is used for a close and rapid exchange on the management level, for example to gain insights into the current mood regarding development of the current market situation or to obtain assessments and information for the development of positions on normative or statutory regulatory projects.
The meetings are held in strict compliance with antitrust regulations.
